🛠️ Security Tip: Don’t Let Yard Work Make You a Target This Long Weekend

I was at the hardware store yesterday watching people load up on garden gear—and it hit me: long weekends are prime time for theft. While you’re out front planting flowers or trimming hedges, your tools, bikes, and garage contents are on full display.
Here’s how to stay secure while sprucing things up:
Keep Sightlines Clear: Trim back overgrown shrubs around windows and entry points. Sure, they add curb appeal—but they also create hiding spots. Keep things open and visible.
Lock Up Your Tools: Don’t leave tools lying around between tasks or overnight. Shovels, ladders, and trimmers are easy targets—and sometimes get used to break in.
Secure the Shed and Garage: Even a quick trip to the backyard is long enough for a thief to walk up the driveway and help themselves. I’ve heard way too many stories of bikes and gear disappearing in broad daylight while the mower’s running out back.
A little prevention goes a long way. Don’t let a weekend project turn into a security issue.
As always, my teams and I are here if you ever have any questions about protecting what matters most.
Enjoy the sunshine—just lock everything up before you light the barbecue.
